I decided that I would like to learn a functional programming language for fun.  Can anyone suggest any?

And how about books and websites?

Because you might as well do things properly and choose pure functional.  Otherwise, anything with static typing and type inference, i.e. anything but Lisp.

Haskell is good sauce. Lisp or scheme will just make you hate parens for the rest of your life.

It's not only functional but you don't have to deal with objects, classes and types.
