Of course, just as I was getting out of that, a sick Dredlock Girl came up for Party Girl’s birthday. I scoffed that I have the constitution of a horse and I don’t get sick. That’s probably why I’m the only one who got what she had. :( So, I spent the last week in various levels of sickness, sometimes good enough to go to work and do stuff, sometimes not. Near the end, after having tons of trouble with mucus and what not, I decided to try something new. I went in search of a neti pot so I could drain that crap out. Well, I couldn’t find a reasonably priced one anywhere so I decided to take matters into my own hands. A dollar and forty-nine cents for a turkey baster was more than affordable. And it along with salt water did wonders for me. Hell, I’m thinking about continuing it as part of my daily regimen. Or maybe every other day. Who knew that nasal irrigation could really work for something? Once you get past the strange feeling, it’s not so bad.
Started a new 40K campaign. This time, it’s less tilted toward one side and more tree based. We’re also trying the experience rules for units. Since we all have a large set list of troops to pull from, using the same units over and over, experience could be interesting as time passes. Another interesting facet is that we’re having kill team battles between the main engagements. Kill Team is kinda like this: one of you has a squad of whatever race you play and the other has control of small roving bands of an enemy race. The squad tries to complete a mission, the roving bands are the guards trying to get in your way. The longer the battle goes, the more control the owner of the roving bands gets over his roving bands. The cooler you make the attacking squad, the the cooler the roving bands and their big boss are. It’s pretty quick and a lot of fun. For anyone who plays, it’s definitely worth a try. The most important thing of all, though, is that I won my first battle so I’m 1-0.
In a few weeks, Welsh Girl and I are going back out to West Texas. We’re a little poor, but we need the get away. Especially her… She’s dropping her math class. You know? The one that will complete her degree? Well, the teacher is borderline indecipherable (he’s French) and no help whatsoever (once again, French). I’d like her to finish it, but I also understand how hard math can be if your mind doesn’t work that way. Besides, a shitty teacher can do more harm than good and there’s no point in going if the class isn’t helping. Another time for that I guess…
I need a computer, the OLPC project is looking for people to buy them. Coincidence? I think not. And half the cost is tax deductible, too!
That’s it for now, I guess. Hopefully, I’ll actually use the whine cellar before the year is out.
